Welcome to PurePiscator.com

Pure Piscator was produced between the years 2006-2009, from the efforts of a rag-tag group of normal, everyday anglers, referred to collectivily as 'The Work Party'. Saltwater or Fresh, Coarse, Game or Sea, traditional or modern, here it mattered not, the idea simply to create a varied collection of articles and writings from across the angling world.

Hopefully this site has reflected all that is positive about the pastime of angling, reminded us of its purer virtues and that a little bankside etiquette still has its place. At the same time, the aim of this site was to be a little different, somewhat entertaining and, most importantly, a welcoming place - an online piscatorial refuge if you like.  So whilst that rod can't be in your hand, delve within, relax, look back and hopefully enjoy.

Major Disapointment - Part 1 - by Charlie
View Major Disapointment - Part 1"The first real major disappointment of my rather long fishing career happened in ’83..." - Charlie's tale of faux disapointment and fatherhood.

Today's Quote

The once-monthly fisherman adores his day on the river, imagining that 10 times the trips would yield 10 times the pleasure. But I have lived the gallant fishers life and have learnt that NOT fishing is crucial to the enjoyment of fishing: fishing is a good thing but too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I don't know why the chronic candy lover so quickly becomes the toothless hypoglycemic, the athletic champ the has-been chump, the dashing Don Juan the diseased lecher, but I know they do. And so does the constant angler become a water-brained, gibbering jerk-worshipper
