I was born in 1951, an Autumn child, October still by far my favourite month.
My father taught me to fish when I was about eight, with
Northamptonshire's coarse fish the only option, they themselves needing
to be within bicycling distance. Nowadays I fish only for trout and
grayling on the fly, rivers only, necessitating early starts from
high-tech Milton Keynes where I live and run my freelance writing
business. I use an old Hardy smuggler, the only rod I now possess.
I have two, new, one-year-old grandsons that I can't wait to teach to
fish. I write poetry for pleasure, including angling amongst many
themes.
